FEMS Advanced Fellowships are intended to acknowledge excellence in research and to stimulate and promote international research of the highest scientific standard in the most prestigious laboratories in Europe. FEMS Advanced Fellowships are long-term fellowships granted for a period of six to twenty four months.
Applicants
Applicants should be promising, young (less than 36 years of age) European microbiologists, who have recently completed a Ph.D. and have done less than 3 years of postdoctoral work. They should of course hold membership in one of the FEMS Societies.
Application
Intending applicants should first acquaint themselves with the regulations which are to be found on this page under 'online documents'. A completed application form, together with the obligatory attachments, should be submitted to FEMS Central Office. Applications should arrive at FEMS Central Office latest by the deadline (October 1). The intended fellowship project should start between 6-12 months after this deadline.
Review
All eligible applications will be subjected to external peer review for scientific content. Applications will also be rated for project feasibility, host laboratory reputation, and applicant’s profile/standing.
